The Colorado Asthma Toolkit began in Eastern Colorado in 2007 and has allowed asthma specialists from National Jewish Health to bring expertise, primary care practices in order to successfully improve asthma diagnosis and treatment. The program has been extremely well received and has expanded to southcentral Colorado and the greater Denver area. Through knowledge of evidence-based guidelines and the understanding of the need for better asthma management in underserved communities, the CATP continues to evolve train more practices to provide the best possible care to their patients.

Funding for specific Asthma Toolkit training programs has been provided by:

  • Caring For Colorado
  • CDPHE
  • Kaiser Permanente

“This has changed the way I practice medicine.  We're getting good spirometry and really seeing the level of disease out there in the community that we wouldn't have otherwise.  It's really made a difference.”
